2. 英语之“形合”与汉语之“意合”

连淑能在《英汉对比研究》中指出:形合指的是句中的词语或分句之间用语言形式手段 (如关联词) 连接起来, 表达了语法意义和逻辑关系;意合指的是词语或分句之间不用语言形式、手段连接, 句中的语法意义和逻辑关系通过词语或分句的含义表达 (1993:48) 。

3.《初雪》中“and”句及其译文在形合与意合方面的体现

《初雪》中“and”句及其译文体现了英语重“形合”与汉语重“意合”的特点。举例如下:

应该说, a, b两句没有任何错误, 其逻辑关系是“我”朝窗外望。所以“我”看见……。但由于and后面用的是I see, 是人作主语, 主观性太突出, 表达不了“窗外突然飘雪”的那份客观惊喜。c句与d句相比就差一个逗号, 逗号把前后两个分句分开, 表示一种停顿。为什么要停顿呢?因为“我”不经间一望, 窗外的景象让“我”吃惊, 一下子就顿住了。作者借用逗号, and及其后表达客观存在句型的there are来凸显其惊喜之情。英语的表达方式在这里起了关键作用, 是典型的“形合”法。

曹先生的译文:一天晚上, 我从我隐居的小木屋朝窗外望去, 但见柔软的雪花正慢悠悠的飘进金色的灯光之中。

英语列举三个事项时, 使用一个and将后两者连起来即可, 但这里表达的是作者惊喜的延续:事先她并不知道外面世界覆雪的情况, 而是早上起来举目一望, 才看到了河流、树林和山峰的情形, 目光由低到高, 由近到远。如用“stream, wood and mountain”的形式, 则说明作者“胸有成竹”, 事先知情, 这与实际情况不相符合。所以作者在此也是借英语重“形合”的特点来凸现其所见世界。

此句与句 (1) 非常相似, 但and前没有逗号, 前后两个分句未被分开。作者一大早起来, 随即便置身于世界的静谧之中, 闭合的句式表明作者跟静谧的世界没有距离, 她已融入其中。

曹先生译文:我一大清早便来到屋外。整个大千世界如此安谧, 甚至连轻微的呼吸也会破坏这份宁静。

译者采用了断句的译法, 即把原文and前面的分句断开成一个独立的句子, 虽然形式上分开, 但汉语重“意合”的特点不会使读者产生误解, “我”来到屋外, 自然与安谧的世界融为一体。

微风吹落枝条上的雪花, 留下光秃秃的褐色枝条, 此情此景与雪后美丽的洁白世界极不协调, 作者对此也表达出无限的心酸与惋惜。原文连用两个and, 在语调上逐步下降, 语势逐渐减弱, 节奏减缓, 巧妙地表达了作者惋惜和无可奈何之情。

曹先生译文:……哪怕一阵最轻柔的微风也会把微微闪光的雪花从它们身上吹落, 留下些赤裸裸的褐色枝条惹人怜惜。

译者没有保留原文的形式, 但一个“惹人怜惜”已尽显其意, 于义无损。

(5) The sky is clear blue now and the sun has flung diamonds down on meadow and bank and wood.

第一个and把湛蓝的天空和闪光的世界连成一体, 体现作者置身雪后天地间的整体性。后两个and依然表现作者观察的实景, 并未预先知晓。

曹先生译文:此刻, 天空已是一片湛蓝, 太阳把千万颗宝石撒在草地上, 撒在河流旁, 撒在树林间。

译文虽未保留叙述的整体性, 但用“此刻”统领全句, 表明后面描述的是同一时刻的情形;同时, 译文重复“撒在”二字, 也是为了体现作者观察的间次性。

(6) Night comes, and the silence holds.

从叙述的时序上看, 作者前文主要描述雪后一天的情形, 重点就严寒和静谧进行了详述。此句转向对雪后夜晚的描述, 静谧是夜晚的特点, 此处and承上启下, 与后文的hold一起, 保持了描写对象的延续性。

唐先生译文:夜幕降临, 天地间依然万籁俱寂。译文突出了hold之意, 虽未译出and但“依然”一词已表达了描述对象的连续性。

译文在形式上未照搬原文译为“大地……发光, 且蕨草丛……”, 但前后两个分句统一在一个句子中, 用意自明:前一个分句为整体感受, 后一个分句乃具体体察, 合起来则为作者当时的观感。

4. 结语

环境保护是指人类为解决现实的或潜在的环境问题，协调人类与环境的关系，保障经济社会的持续发展而采取的各种行动的总称。环境保护又是指人类有意识地保护自然资源并使其得到合理的利用，防止自然环境受到污染和破坏；对受到污染和破坏的环境必须做好综合治理，以创造出适合于人类生活、工作的环境。其方法和手段有工程技术的、行政管理的，也有法律的、经济的、宣传教育的等。环保，在我们的生活中极为重要，我们要尽自己的最大努力保护好环境！

1 环境保护的重要性

环境保护对我们来说并不是一个新问题，我国政府也早就提出了明确的治理目标。作为现实生活中的每一个人，虽然不可能都直接从事环保工作，但我们完全可以从小事做起，从我做起。如，当看到洗手间的水龙头在滴水时，是不是能够顺手关上呢？当电池用完后能否分类收藏处理而不是随手扔掉呢？当购物时能否自觉不使用超薄塑料袋呢？……一件件小事虽然都很不起眼，但却体现了我们究竟具备了多少环保意识。

毋庸置疑，环境意识与人们的受教育程度密切相关，全面的环境保护和全民族环保意识的普及与提高，决非轻而易举；环境保护不仅包括动物、森林的保护、防止大气和水的污染这样一些“大事”，也包括我们周围生活中无处不在的各种小事。人类对环境的保护，归根结底是基于保护地球上日益枯竭的资源，保护我们生存发展的基本条件。今天，提起环境保护，几乎没有人会反对，但是真正做到自觉长久地保护环境、保护资源，还有许多工作在等待着我们去做。我认为首要的就是要在全民族树立起环保意识，具体地说就是树立资源意识，生存意识。要让大家都认识到，保护环境与资源和我们每个人息息相关，保护环境不仅是关乎子孙后代的千秋大业，而且已经直接关系到人类社会今天的生存！只要我们从自己做起，从小事做起，大家共同努力，持之以恒，就一定能为社会、为自己留下一片碧水蓝天。

环境保护已成为当今世界各国政府和人民的共同行动和主要任务之一。我国则把环境保护宣布为中国的一项基本国策，并制定和颁布了一系列环境保护的法律、法规，以保证这一基本国策的贯彻执行。

2 加强环境保护的措施

2.1 健全环境保护法律法规，加强执法力度

一是要抓紧制订有关土壤污染、化学物质污染、生态保护、遗传资源、生物安全、臭氧层保护、核安全、循环经济、环境损害赔偿和环境监测等方面的法律法规。二是要加大对各类工业开发区的环境监管力度，对达不到环境质量要求的，要限期整改。三是要完善对污染受害者的法律援助机制，研究建立环境民事和行政公诉制度。

2.2 健全环境管理体制，完善环境监管制度

一是建立健全“国家监察、地方监管、单位负责”的环境监管体制，加大国家对地方政府及其有关部门执行环保法律法规情况的监察力度。二是要地方政府对本辖区环境质量负责，组织落实污染防治和生态保护任务。三是要各类法人和其他组织负责解决自身的环境问题，承担污染治理和生态恢复责任。

2.3 建立环保机制，增加环保资金投入

一是要加大政府环境保护投资力度，各级政府要将环境保护投入列入本级财政支出的重点内容并逐年增加，加大对污染防治、生态保护、环保试点示范和环保监管能力建设的资金投入，确保环保行政管理、监察、监测、信息、宣教等行政和事业经费支出。二是要引导社会资金参与城乡环境保护基础设施和有关工作的投入，完善政府机制，多渠道筹集社会资金，鼓励各类所有制经济积极参与污染治理设施投资和运营，支持有条件的投资建设污染治理设施。

2.4 推动环境科技进步，加强环保队伍建设

一是要强化环保科技基础平台建设，将重大环保科研项目优先列入国家科技计划，积极组织对重大关键和共性技术的科技攻关，重点组织对饮水安全、污水深度处理、资源循环利用、燃煤电厂脱硫脱硝、汽车尾气净化处理等重大环保技术的科研开发和产业化示范，加快信息、生物、新材料等高技术在环保领域的应用，加快科技成果转化，积极推广先进适用的环保技术。二是要健全环境监察、监测和应急体系，规范环保人员管理，强化培训，提高素质，建设一支思想好、作风正、懂业务、会管理的环保队伍。

2.5 增强全社会环境意识

在推进中国环境保护的法律制度政策等工作的同时，还需要充分认识到公众在解决环保问题上的力量。首先，要通过各种宣传手段，提高公众的环保意识，只有提高了意识、手法、环保、参与才能变成一种自觉的行动；其次，鼓励公众与新闻媒体舆论对政府、工业污染大户等监督，施以压力才能使环保政策切实。尤其要指出的是一些环保民间组织的兴起开始影响到政府决策的形成与实施，并在引导环保节能社会风气的形成中发挥重要作用。

1972年6月，我国政府代表团参加了联合国人类环境会议，会议通过了《人类坏境宣言》，环境保护开始摆上国家议事日程。尽管中国参加了此次会议，但是由于当时的中国环境问题不是那么的突出，所以并没有引起太大的反响。人们还像原来一样过着日子。在农村人们还是乱砍滥伐，森林的覆盖率在一天天地减少，环境被不断地破坏着，环境问题被一天天的突出。到20世纪90年代环境问题引起了政府的注意并在1998年成立了环保协会而且在2008年升格为环境保护部。

从20世纪80年代到90年代中间有10几年的时间，在这几年的时间里中国人以牺牲环境来发展经济，经济的发展是建立在破坏环境的基础上。而在90年代人们终于知道了破坏环境的后果。于是开始寻求方法来解决，开始就环境与国外交流观点，意见与方法。开始了解各个国家是如何来看待和解决这个这个问题的。而就在这时英语在其中起到了很大的作用，很多国家的人都说的是英语，即使不是说的是英语，但都懂一些，因为英语是作为一门国际语言的，到任何的国家，只要会说英语都不成问题。而现在中国要与世界各国交流就得使用英语与之交流。

后来经过我国学者对美国的环境保护方面的研究发现，美国在1880年罗斯福是总统的时候就开始保护美国的土地了。并且美国环保协会早在1968年就成立并开始参与了美国的环境保护工作。而且美国民众在1960年就开始关心化学物品对环境造成的危害。面对这样的发现对中国无疑是一个沉重的打击，因为当时的中国对环境根本没有过任何的环境保护的工作，人民群众对于破坏环境也没有任何的行动，根本就没有人关心环境造成的危害。面对这样的情形，中国政府赶紧采取行动。在社会工作中不停地告诉人们破坏环境所带来的危害影响，并且进行了一系列的退耕还林的号召和在全国各地不断的宣传，必要时还采取了用法律途径来解决。在一定程度上缓解了当时的环境破坏严重的情况。

由于中国政府的不断努力，不断改进，不断的与不同国家的交流，探讨和创新应对环境破坏的方法，向不同的国家吸取他们应对环境的策略。中国取得了一定的成就，环境也得到了改善。并且由于不断的宣传外国民众对环境保护所采取的行为和翻译了一些外国的一些关于环境的著作如《寂静的秋天》等等，中国的民众也开始慢慢的意识到环境的重要性和破坏环境所带来的影响。所以他们也开始付诸于行动，他们慢慢地不再乱砍滥伐，尽量少使用塑料袋并且由于政府的这种对环境的强烈的态度很多工厂也慢慢的减少排放污水，废气和改进了他们的设备；在农村里，人们不再使用以前的那种暗暗的黄黄的灯而是使用节能灯，人们也学会了保护森林，鸟和珍稀动物，懂得了在地球上只有与大自然和谐相处才能让我们的生活更加的美好。如果破坏了大自然，自然界的生物链，生态系统，人们将会无法在地球上生存，或许人类会灭亡就像恐龙一样永远消失在地球上。总而言之，人们的环境意识愈来愈强，在日常的生活中人们随口都会谈到环境问题，环境问题成为了一个热点的问题，成为了人们饭后的闲谈话题，这给中国的环境保护带来了很大程度上的帮助。
