以表达功能为主的文本, 其核心是表情达意, 在翻译时应同时注重作者独特的语言风格和内容。以信息功能为主的文本, 其核心是语言之外的现实世界, 在翻译时要注重信息传达的真实性, 以及接受者的理解与反应, 即信息传递的效果。以呼唤功能为主的文本, 其核心是读者效应, 号召读者去行动、去思考、去感受, 按照文本预想的方式做出反应。[1]

翻译表达型文本时可采用“语义翻译”的方法, 即“在目的语语意、句法结构尽量允许的范围内, 将原文语境意义准确表达出来”。[2]使译在结构和词序安排上文尽量贴近原文。

对于信息型文本和呼唤型文本, 在翻译时可采用“交际翻译法”。让译文读者获取尽可能接近原文读者的效果。

这两种翻译方法的差异在于, 前者“语义翻译”要求译文接近原文的形式, 在结构和词序安排上力求接近原文, 后者则注重接受者的理解和反应, 即信息传递的效果。[3]

2 译例分析

合肥作为全国四大科教城市之一, 高校林立。这其中既有在全国高校中名类前茅的中国科技大学、教育部直属高校合肥工业大学、省属综合性大学安徽大学, 也有一批以专业特色见长的高校如安徽医科大学、安徽建筑大学等。在这些大学的网站上, 均有对于各自学校的中英文简介。这些简介是介绍学校情况、展示学校风貌的最直接的文字, 而其中的英文简介更是外国读者了解该校的主要途径之一, 其重要性不言而喻。

以下作者根据“信息型文本”和“呼唤型文本”的特征, 遵循“交际翻译法”, 对地处合肥的几所高校的学校简介的中英文简介进行文本的分析。

例一:

安徽医科大学为省属重点大学。前身是1926年5月创办于上海的私立东南医学院。1949年底响应中共中央华东局“面向农村, 走向内地”的号召, 内迁安徽省, 成为安徽省第一所高等医科院校。1952年改名为安徽医学院。1996年6月经国家教委批准, 更名为安徽医科大学。学校位于安徽省会合肥市, 校园环境优美, 交通便利。

以上两段文字分别是安徽医科大学的中英文简介, 不难看出都是对学校历史或者说校名由来的一段介绍。在英文部分, 主要是抓住了几个重要的时间节点, 讲述学校由“东南医学院”到“安徽医科大学”的变迁过程。在中文简介中出现的“响应中共中央华东局面向农村, 走向内地’的号召”这样带有政治色彩的文字则省去不译。对这类与主题关系不大, 且让英语读者读起来不知所云的文字, 适时采用删减法, 更加便于读者理解与接受。

以上两个例子分别是安徽大学和合肥工业大学学校简介的第一句话, 分别对两所高校进行了定性描述。在两所高校的中文简介中都出现了诸如“211工程”和“985工程”此类的文字, 在英文简介中都省去未译。原因在于这两个数字对于英文读者来说仅仅是数字, 不具有任何深层次的含义。英文简介中的key universities已经能让读者产生同样的反应, 信息传递的效果已经达到了。

另外在这两则英文简介中对于高校所处地“合肥”给了不同的处理。在例二中, 仅用了一个同位语the beautiful capital city of Anhui Province加以说明, 而例三中用了一句包含了同位语和定语从句的复合句It is situated in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, which is also known as a green city and as an important base of science and education in China.进行说明。作者认为例三的处理方法更符合“交际翻译法”的要求。对合肥的介绍采用增译“绿色城市”、“科教基地”不仅起到了宣传合肥的作用, 更让英语读者了解了学校所处的大环境, 深化了其认识, 提升了学校的整体形象。

以上两则译例中, 汉语的语言特点非常明显, 一是三字格、四字格的叠加运用, 二是出现在校训中的典籍的引用。例四中, 将“地方性、应用型、国际化”翻译为以“-tion”结尾的三个名词, 达到了语言形式上的对等, 且语义也是对等的。四字格“育人为本、德育为先”也相对应的采用了直译。对于校训的翻译, 虽仅用了四个名词, 语义上不如原文清晰, 但仍可看出译者所做的努力。例五中则漏译了一些信息, 对于蕴含文化典籍的校训和办学定位及办学传统中一系列的四字格均省去未译, 仅译了“质量立校、科研兴校”。两者相比, 例四在处理涉及文化特色的语言时, 尽力还原其语言层面的特征, 使译语读者能够感受到汉语的语言和文化魅力。例五翻译的语言虽然简练, 也表达了基本的语义, 但总有文化缺失的遗憾。

3 结束语

以上学校简介在汉译英的过程中或直译或意译, 或增译或删减, 采用了不同的翻译策略, 不同程度的再现了原文传递的信息, 亦使接受者产生不一样的阅读反应。纽马克的文本功能论及其相关的“语义翻译”和“交际翻译”两种翻译方法, 在翻译不同类型文本时具有实际的指导意义。类似学校简介的翻译, 应把信息传递的准确性与读者反应的相同性放在同等重要的位置, 既要再现原文的要旨, 又要以接受者为中心, 努力提高译文质量, 追求简介传播效益的最大化。

摘要：在高等教育走向国际化以及网络信息不断发展的大背景下, 中国各大高校的网页大多都存在中英文两种版本。网页上的英文版学校简介多为其中文版的英译。此类中英文学校简介在介绍学校相关信息的同时, 也起到对外宣传的作用, 兼具“信息型文本”和“呼唤行文本”的特征。该文综合运用纽马克的文本类型说及其相对应的两大翻译方法, 以地处合肥{全国四大科教城市之一}的几所高校为例, 分析这几所高校网页上的中英文简介, 比较异同, 浅析高校简介英文翻译的策略。

摘要：本文通过实例分析了萍乡市部分进出口公司的“公司简介”英译中常见的失误问题，并给出了修改意见，提出了解决方法。

一、引言

随着我国改革开放的进一步深化，进出口业务的不断增加，我国的对外交往日益频繁，越来越多的中国企业意识到公司英文网页建设的必要性和重要性。大多数公司将中文网页翻译成英文，其中大部分是公司简介。公司简介承载着公司的主要信息，是客户了解公司的直接途径。而当笔者通过对萍乡奇盛进出口有限公司、萍乡百利进出口公司以及萍乡高楼烟花制造有限公司的网页公司简介进行分析时，发现的问题比比皆是。而对于外贸公司来说，一个正确而又详实的公司简介是相当重要的。本文拟从详细分析萍乡这三家进出口公司的英文简介的失误入手，探讨一下如何解决“公司简介”汉译英常见的失误问题。

具体操作过程：

1.组员刘春华、林哲、李茜、何娣负责负责上网查看、搜集萍乡市外贸企业与烟花制造行业的企业简介，通过初步浏览并打印成文稿以便仔细斟酌。

2.组员陈清清、罗蓉蓉、张丹桦、刘恋负责仔细查看、阅读由其他成员所搜集到的企业简介材料并找出错误，并给出修改意见。

3.所有组员均有分工，经过一段时间的仔细阅读、研究，修改工作基本完成，组员定期一起讨论分析错误和问题所在，并作出总结，将分析材料的错误归类。

4.刘春华整理好材料和总结，撰写论文。由其他成员进行检查和修改。李茜、林哲负责制作电子稿。

二、存在的问题以及修改意见

在分析过程中，笔者发现萍乡部分外贸公司在对待公司简介翻译时，并没有引起高度重视，并在其公司简介网页的英文部分发现主要存在以下问题。

1.拼音拼写时存在问题

萍乡高楼烟花制造有限公司中的“芦溪”被拼为“Lu Xi”，应改为“Luxi”“庐山”被拼为“Lu Shan”，应改为“Lushan”。

2.单词拼写错误

萍乡百利进出口公司中单词“word”应改为“world”，“won”应改为“own”，萍乡高楼烟花制造有限公司中的“3th”应改为“3rd”，“two millions”应该为“two million”。

3.语法错误

常见的语法错误有：名词单复数用法错误、冠词使用不当、时态使用错误 1

等，下面就各种语法错误进行分析。

（1）名词单复数用法错误

萍乡奇盛进出口有限公司中的“Our export sales volume are still steadily increasing.”，“sales volume” 是单数名词词组，在句子应用“is”，而不是“are”；萍乡高楼烟花制造有限公司中的“We creates a strong foundation for the market company”,“we”是复数名词，“creates”应去掉“s”，“Over two hundred employee work for CGEF”一句中，“Over two hundred”表示复数，在“employee”后应加“s”；萍乡百利进出口有限公司中的“Our annual production and export of fireworks has reached more than 20 million cartons ”,应将“has”改为“have”。

5.中式英语翻译现象严重

中式英语指带有中文语音、语法、词汇特色的英语，是一种洋泾浜语言，它是将汉语“直接”翻译成英语。规范化英汉对译时必须使译文规范化，即所用的词汇、短语、句子及语法都必须符合本语种的一般规范和习惯，否则就会出现中文西化，西文中化的毛病。

萍乡高楼烟花制造有限公司网页介绍中的“共同创造美好的明天”，被翻译成“create a beautiful tomorrow together with you.”，这种翻译只是通过网络上的翻译软件直接翻译的，没有任何意义，建议将其改为“We believe that we will have bright future together!”,“Our factory‟s high quality and well-known products received…”建议将其改为“The high quality and well-known products of our factory received…”。

6.“公司简介”英译的原文要适当删减

在萍乡高楼烟花制造有限公司的英文网页中，大篇幅地叙述了该公司在经营过程中所取得的成就，而且对其所在城市萍乡芦溪也进行了一番描写。而在西方，产品及服务的最好评价者是顾客，因而这样的“公司简介”是毫无意义的。张基珮在“外宣英译的原文要适当删减”的文章中提到，应该将其中对城市大篇幅的介绍和产品所获奖项的描述删除。因此，萍乡高楼烟花制造有限公司中的“They received Certificate of Honor in Exhibition of State Commodities for Export in 1993.”等诸如此类的语句应该删除。

三.解决方法

“公司简介”的翻译是企业树立良好形象的重要渠道，尤其是对于萍乡基础薄弱的外贸企业，更是要注重提高翻译水平，减少“公司简介”翻译中不应有的错误，下面就如何解决“公司简介”汉译英常见的失误问题提出几点建议。1.企业应重视翻译。当今社会越来越多的企业已经认识到一个企业的竞争除了产品、质量以外，还应掌握国内外市场和技术信息，故企业有必要挑选优秀的译者进行培养以达到此目的。

四．结束语

此次翻译作业历时长达2个月。任务期间小组各成员均有具体分工，并且小组成员积极服从组长安排，将自己应该做到的尽力完成，这不仅锻炼了团队精神，而且也让同学们学到了不少知识。从寻找材料到最终的论文，每个成员都贡献了自己大量的时间和精力，并且能够对不懂得的问题进行讨论并协商解决，掌握了一些学习的技巧。通过此次作业，成员们都懂得了翻译的难度，见识到了一些“企业简介”的翻译，也懂得了如何将一些“企业简介”翻译成中文和企业翻译的重
