1 问题的提出

作业是使学生掌握知识、形成技能、培养能力的重要手段, 是师生交流信息的有效途径, 也是开发智力、激发学习主动性的重要载体。传统的英语作业多是朗读、抄单词、背短语等机械训练, 中职英语作业也不例外。这种形式单一、缺少创造性的作业会严重影响学生的学习兴趣、打击其学习热情, 最终导致厌学情绪产生。

《中职英语课程标准》指出:“英语课程应以兴趣为导向, 注重学生基础, 突出英语学习的实用性, 使学生树立自信心, 发展自主学习的能力和合作精神。”因此, 教师应尝试设计开放性作业, 将知识的获得和能力训练有机结合, 为学生提供张扬个性、激励创新的空间, 使学生在自主、合作、探究的过程中获得良好的情感体验。

2 开放性作业的理论依据

开放性作业是相对封闭性作业而言的, 它摆脱了以往封闭、僵化的作业形式, 以利于学生进步为原则, 在自然状态和开放环境中设计出适合学生年龄层次、个性特点、认知规律等的作业。

多元智能理论认为, 人的智能主要由语言智能、数学逻辑智能、空间智能、身体运动智能、音乐智能、人际智能、自我认知智能、自然认知智能8项组成, 每个人都拥有不同的智能优势组合。

建构主义理论认为, 知识不是通过教师传授得到的, 而是学习者在一定的情境即社会文化背景下, 借助学习过程中其他人 (包括教师和学习伙伴) 的帮助, 利用必要的学习资料, 通过意义建构的方式获得的。开放性作业能使学生对作业的态度由被动变为主动, 在主动探究的过程中不断巩固知识, 形成合作意识。

任务语言教学理论认为, 掌握语言大多是在交际活动中使用语言的结果, 而不是单纯训练语言技能和学习语言知识的结果。布置作业时, 教师可以任务为载体, 创设真实或接近真实的交际情景, 让学生在完成任务的过程中互动, 进而有效习得语言。

3 开放性作业的设计形式

3.1 搜集型作业———找一找, 学一学

顾名思义, 搜集型作业就是鼓励学生到生活中去寻找和搜集英语信息、有关课本内容的知识、课外知识、有用的词汇等。实际操作中, 教师可先布置任务, 再要求学生通过查字典、上网等途径搜集有用的学习资料。

中职生英语基础比较薄弱, 但对西方文化表现出浓厚的兴趣。根据这一特点, 教师可结合西方节日展开教学。在这类教学中, 搜集型作业发挥着巨大作用。例如, 在万圣节来临之际, 让学生上网或查书籍寻找有关万圣节的“一切”。学生很快就将万圣节的由来、风俗习惯等抄写或打印出来了, 令人惊喜的是, 有名学生竟然将笔者要讲的“Trick or treat”都找出来了, 于是那节课让他讲解, 使其产生极大的成就感和满足感。

3.2 合作型作业——做一做, 演一演

在强调团队精神、团队合作的今天, 合作学习对个体的成长具有重要作用。通过合作, 学生不仅相互帮助, 还能在相互交流、合作探究的过程中激活思维、激发情感、提高能力。教师在设计作业时, 应切实为学生合作意识的培养和协作能力的发展搭建平台。

3.2.1 实践操作型作业

实践操作型作业能促使学生发挥想象力和创造力, 并结合所学知识把学习资源内化为自身财富, 使其体验到学习的乐趣。中职教材大多采用“一单元一话题”的教学模式, 教师在指导学生使用话题功能时可采用“单元整合”的方法, 同样, 学生在学习时也可以进行“单元整合”。教师可让学生以两人或多人为小组, 完成英语话题剪贴画、单元知识整合小抄报等合作型作业。如在学习Unit 5 Food时, 让学生以“Food”为话题, 通过家庭照片、饮食杂志、上网等途径搜集相关信息, 剪贴成图文并茂的画报, 供同学欣赏;又如, 在学习Unit 3School Life Section B的“Poster”后, 让学生为自己所在社团设计一份新社员招募海报, 并将优秀作品推荐给相关社团。这些活动, 能使学生在绘画和语言学习的交汇中巩固所学知识, 同时还能激发学生的想象力, 培养其创造性思维。

孔子说:“知之者不如好之者, 好之者不如乐之者。”这里的“乐”指的正是兴趣。教师在布置作业时也应遵循这一原则。中职生对自己感兴趣的事物有较强的求知欲且中职英语教材话题性和情境性较强。因此, 在设计作业时可让学生对教材稍加改编, 排练一些课本剧。这样, 学生不但熟悉了课文, 而且在特定的情境中亲身体验了角色, 创造性地使用语言, 培养了交际能力、形象思维能力和创造力。比如, 在教学Unit 5 Food“Section B”时, 让学生以小组为单位设计一个与朋友就餐时点餐的对话情境, 并在课堂上表演。学生设计的情境有情侣就餐、家庭聚餐、同学聚餐, 学习积极性高涨。同时, 各组还根据组员英语水平的高低来分配角色, 让基础薄弱的学生也能体会到成功的喜悦, 享受英语学习的乐趣。

所谓探究作业是指学生围绕明确的对象, 自主设计探究任务, 通过查资料、小组合作等方式进行的探究活动。学生在此过程中自主习得知识并综合运用语言, 可获得多方面发展。为了培养学生自主学习能力, 教师可经常布置探究型作业。如:在语音、词汇方面让其探究读音规则和词语的搭配使用, 作业形式可为自编曲子、绕口令;在对话创作表演方面, 让学生探究英语的功能以及如何恰当表达思想和情感, 作业可为模仿课文编写小剧本;在语法方面, 可让学生通过对比, 总结归纳一些常用的语法现象;在文化意识方面, 可让学生通过网络收集资料或展开调查, 了解英语国家的风土人情、传统习惯等。

一、目前初中英语作业存在的问题

1.作业布置量多质低，学生疲于应付

作业量如何控制是很多老师忽视的问题，有些老师认为作业越多，越有利于学生掌握英语知识。特别是考前，更是疯狂地采用题海战术，无视教育的目标，很多学生无法完成作业。

2.作业布置形式单一，忽视学生个体差异

老师在设计作业时往往忽视了学生个体的差异，英语水平的高低不同，理解接收能力都不一样。这就导致有些学生无法完成作业，有些学生又觉得过于简单。这就导致作业不能提升学生的英语能力，不能发挥其应有的左右。

3.作业内容机械重复，磨灭学生学习兴趣

应试教育只强调笔试，因此作业也以书面为主，老师为了应付考试，多布置书面作业为主，而抄写单词与词组，做练习册与试卷则成为其主要形式。作业内容不仅忽略了语言特点，而且内容也枯燥乏味，知识面狭隘。

4.作业形式守旧粗放，阻碍学生思维发展

一些老师较急功近利，在布置作业时只强调书面形式，忽视讨论研究，而语言终极目的是交流。机械的操练时间多，自主学习和思考的时间少，语言实践和口头交际、小组合作学习和互相讨论的作业形式更少。由于缺少听说读的操练，很多学生只会答题不会交流，最后导致哑巴英语。

二、合理地设计和布置作业

1.根据学生实际基础，合理调控作业的质与量

兴趣是最好的老师，教师在设计作业时，不仅要考虑教学的需要，还要充分考虑学生好奇、求新、求趣的特征，挖掘语言学习中的趣味性，努力提高作业的趣味性。趣味性主要体现在题型的多样性，方式新颖，内容有创造性。口头的、书面的、绘画的，能让学生感到作业丰富多彩。同时结合西方文化，布置学生完成相关的任务，这样学生在完成作业的过程中，既掌握了知识，又提高了语言的应用能力。

在“UNIT：WhatsthisinEnglish”这一部分，其作业我们可以从多方面来设计：让学生把自己所知道的英语都讲出来，甚至用书面的作业完成，这样的作业设计能让学生真正做到了“学以致用”，比传统的机械式训练的优势要明显，符合语言学习的特点，能让学生在学习过程中产生对英语的兴趣，从而能积极主动地去学习。

2.根据学生个性差异，分层设计作业

由于学生本身基础的差异，在智力水平、个性等存在区别，学习能力发展不平衡，所以作业的设计要尽量从各层次学生的实际出发，既要面向全体，又要兼顾个别差异，给不同层次的学生创造提高与成长的机会。

在“UNIT：Wheresmyschoolbag”部分，根据图片造句，每张图片都有关键的动词，这部分作业我们可以这样设计：让学生通过对问地点句型的把握，掌握几个基本常用的方位介词，能学会简单的问答；对于学习基础好的学生，我们要求其在这基础上进行扩张，能尽量地对话补充完整，在熟练的基础上灵活运用。

3.根据教学目标要求，追求作业的灵活转型

作业的布置要从多角度（听、说、读、写），多形式（字母、单词、句型、对话、短文等等）、多提醒（机械性、重复性、活用性的智力型的、能力型的等）出发，让学生全方位的参与活动，讲故事，演小品，出试题、举办英语角等，教学内容的多元化，使学生开拓了视野，提高学生在实践中应用英语能力。

在“UNIT：Thisismysister”这部分，我们可以真实地模仿各种场景来完成相关的任务，教师可以利用课余时间举办英语Englishcorner让学生根据这模块的话题做topic进行交流。这样各层次的学生都能参与进来，在交流的过程中思考，学生会更熟练地运用相关知识点。

4.根据学生能力发展特点，精心设计小组合作型作业

普通的作业可以要求学生单独完成，但有些扩展型作业如对话，情景表演、英语角、海报、游戏，则需要利用小组合作的方式才能达到最佳效果。因为语言交流是多向的互动，小组合作容易传递和接收信息，可以激发各自的特长，达到小组资源共享以及知识能力的相互促进。

在“UNIT：Food”我们就可以分成小组，制作一期关于中国食物与国外食物的海报，把海报贴在教室的墙上，每个小组的成员向同学们介绍自己的海报。通过同学们参与，每个成员都从其他的成员身上学到了很东西，合作意识等能得到培养。通过这个环节的学习，让学生不仅可以熟悉各种食物的英语名称，甚至可以在潜移默化中学会一些关于食物的知识。

三、结束语

开放性的作业设计以人为本，充分体现英语教学的特点，把英语作业的设计当成课堂教学的延伸，同时通过作业的设计让英语在实践中能够得到充分的运用。这样形成了立体式的教学，实现了学和用的相结合，有效地培养学生各方面的能力。
