本文试图通过对英语专业学生在考级之后课外各种英语自主学习方式方法的调查, 来反映“后考级时期”学生自主学习英语的现状, 并对调查的结果做数据分析, 并针对现状探讨有利于促进学生的英语自主学习的方式方法。
1 学生英语自主学习情况调查
为了解到尽可能有效地了解学生自主学习情况信息, 问卷调查经几次修改, 最终确定问卷的内容, 分为4部分共12项。
完成问卷设计后, 确定调查对象为外语学院二年级第二学期英语专业学生分级教学班约200位学生, 所在班级学生都通过了大学英语四级。问卷调查于2015年5月进行, 共发出问卷205份, 回收有效问卷192份, 有效率达90%以上。
调查问卷中的第一部分 (问题1~问题3) 主要了解学生对自主学习的认识。Q1对有自己详细的计划, 并写在纸上占4.8%, 在脑子中有较详细的计划占20.7%, 只有大致的学习方向和安排占43.2%, 没有具体计划占31.3%;Q2你对自主学习的态度很积极, 很轻松比例为24.7%, 很盲目不知如何下手和非常消极, 不愿意花时间去自主学习分别占50.8%和24.5%;Q3你认为更重要的是自主学习或者课堂学习分别为41.9%和58.1%。从中可看出, 绝大多数学生并未充分认识到自主学习的重要性并付诸实践。只有4.8%的学生能够制定详细的计划并形成书面计划, 这一比例明显偏小;50.8%的同学对自主学习感觉很盲目, 无从下手, 不到一半的同学 (41.9%) 认为自主学习比较重要。
调查问卷的第二部分 (问题4~5) 主要了解学生对自主学习英语的兴趣与方式方法的途径选择。Q4我认为自主学习英语重要和不太重要分别为82.8%和17.2%, 没人选没什么用;Q5我认为自主学习英语的方式方法能有较好选择、不清楚怎么选择和根本没想过分别为35.9%, 57.6%和6.5%;以上数据表明大部分学生意识到自主学习英语的重要性, 但对于具体的方式方法还无从选择。
调查问卷的第三部分 (问题6~8) 主要了解学生英语自主学习的情况。Q6每天自主学习英语的时间74.5%选0-1小时, 23.4%选1-2小时, 2.1%选2-3小时, 3小时以上没人选;Q7关于英语阅读与写作, 你通常阅读报纸杂志书籍等纸质材料为16.8%, 通过浏览英语学习网站等多媒体方式为42.8%, 有计划地写英语作文1.6%, 几乎很少写或没有写英语作文89.9%。Q8关于英语听力与口语, 你通常选择购买英语听力材料来训练为5.9%, 下载网络英语听力材料来练习, 有意识地主动与人交流练习英语和参加各种英语活动来练习英语口语分别为29.6%, 2.7%和3.6%。以上可以看出, 学生的英语自主学习情况不容乐观。高达74.5%的学生每天花在英语学习上的时间只有不到一个小时, 在没有时间投入的前提下, 可以预测学生在英语阅读和写作上也不会花太多的时间。事实也证明, 超过一半的学生会去阅读, 但写作训练几乎近90%的学生没有自主训练。从听力、口语技能的训练等方面进行了调查, 能自主安排训练听说的学生很少, 训练也主要停留在下载听力材料, 其他渠道和方式可以忽略不计。
调查问卷的第四部分 (问题9~12) 主要了解学生在自主学习时希望获得何种帮助。Q9对于英语自主学习, 你希望老师给予指导提供相关材料, 学校加强硬件设施建设和就靠自己安排学习三个选项比例为49.5%, 28.3%和23.2%;Q10在英语自主学习时, 你是否寻求过老师帮助, 只有7.4%联系过老师, 44.2%想过, 但没联系过, 还有48.4%没想过;Q11你希望老师提供的自主学习资料包括英语电影和阅读书目为36.9%和22.7%, 提供自主学习网站和提供课上的听力资料为23.2%和17.2;Q12最能促进英语自主学习的途径是选老师进行指导为34.3%, 选良好的英语学习氛围占46.7%, 只有19%的学生选老师规定学习任务。
2 解决方法探讨
2.1 丰富的自主学习资源库的建立
网络在大学英语自主学习扮演极其重要的作用, 因此首要的任务应该建立一个内容丰富的资源库, 包括听、说、读、写、译各项技能的分类训练。听力内容应该配备适当的视频和英语脚本以吸引学生的注意力和帮助学生理解听力内容, 并让学生模仿真实地道的语音语调、参与角色扮演练习口语, 感受丰富多彩的语言环境;阅读材料应形式多样、内容丰富, 涉及工作、生活、时事政治、天文地理和文化艺术等, 并适当地添加注解以帮助学生在更广泛的社会背景下学习一种新的语言;设立人性化的写作评阅系统, 能够自动全面、客观、及时地反映学生的写作水平。把语言点循序渐进地巧妙融合在生活与工作场景中, 通过原版电影、英文歌曲、笑话、谜语等休闲娱乐方式不断扩展, 满足不同知识水平、不同认知风格的学生的自主学习的需求。学生可以根据自己的英语水平和兴趣爱好自由选择, 从而达到培养其自主学习的效果。
2.2 英语自主学习、反馈、监控体系的完善
自主学习应该体现真正的时空自由。学生可以从家里、宿舍、自习室或任何可上网的地点通过电脑、手机等可以上网的工具登录学习。对学生的学习效果不能只给一个测试成绩, 及时和建设性的反馈能让学生实时感受成绩进步, 増强信心, 稳步提升英语综合应用能力。教师可以随时随地进入系统管理自己的班级、布置作业, 并监控学生的学习进度。软件提供商应该与高校合作, 加强英语教师的培训力度。同时应该安排技术人员定期进校园, 多与师生进行沟通, 一起发现问题, 解决问题, 共同完善自主学习系统。教师也应该经常性地收集信息和分析信息, 及时解决问题, 才能真正发挥形成性评估的作用。
2.3 学生英语自主学习能力的培养
首先要转变学生的学习观念。学生还是习惯于课堂上被动地聆听教师讲解。由于这种依赖性的思维, 学生不习惯积极地承担起自主学习中的各项责任。教师应该让学生明白英语语言能力的提高需要学习者积极主动地学习、模仿和运用。其次, 帮助学生掌握一定的学习策略。语言学习策略有助于减少学生学习中的困惑和焦虑, 保持他们的学习热情和动力, 或者端正学习态度, 提高学习动力。在以学生为中心的网络自主学习中, 应该教学生掌握一定的阅读策略、交际策略、写作技巧、听力技巧, 培养学生养成制订学习计划、选择学习方式、进行自我监控、自我评估的习惯, 从而提高学生的自主学习能力。
3 结语
学生良好的英语自主学习方式方法的养成对于大学英语教学改革和促进而言, 应该有利于学生逐步实现从学习依赖到学习自主这一过渡。一般来说, 自主的程度与英语的程度成正相关。学习自主意味着教师的角色从信息的供应者转变为学习的便利者、学习计划的管理者以及学习资源本身。教师的角色也展现了一个从传送教学到释疑的教学连续统一体, 教师帮助学生逐步实现从学习依赖到学习自主的过渡。
摘要:“后考级时期”英语自主学习主要是指学生在通过大学英语等级考试之后的课外自主学习英语的情况, 良好的英语自主学习习惯的养成和英语自主学习能力的提高的显得尤为重要。而学生良好的英语自主学习习惯和自主学习能力往往取决于他 (她) 们是否尊重英语语言学习特点, 所采取的英语自主学习的方式方法是否得当, 是否适合个体。

2.复习后,教师配以肢体语言先将chant 表演一遍,再放录音请小朋友一起欣赏。3教师教唱。
