短文改错着重考查考生的语言基本功和正确使用英语进行表达的能力。它涉及词汇、语法、句型结构等方面的知识和逻辑情理的推断和综合辨析能力，是一种在较高层次上考查考生对英语知识的掌握和语言综合运用能力的测试题型。它是专门针对考生们平时学习英语过程中，尤其是写作练习中常犯的又是较为普遍的错误而设计的。对考生们而言，该题又是拉开距离和档次的题型。
-命题原则
通过对近几年高考中短文改错的分析，可以看出命题者一般在行文逻辑、一致关系、连接手段、平行结构、多词少词、冠词使用、名词数格、词语搭配、词性辨析等方面进行设计和考查。归纳起来，短文改错的命题特点和命题趋向主要体现在以下几个方面：
1.错误类型设置相对稳定
从设错形式上看，基本上都是错词的占6行;没有错误的占1行;多词和缺词的共占3行左右。
2.短文改错所考查的词类覆盖面广，分布合理。错误包括词法、句法、语篇结构、行文逻辑等，涉及名词、冠词、代词、介词、形容词、副词、连词、动词时态、动词语态、非谓语动词、主谓一致等语法知识。在改错题中，占相当大比例的主要是动词的形式变化，现在时第三人称单数，过去时，-ed分词，-ing分词及被动语态等。其他如名词复数的变化、主谓一致、词与词之间搭配、词法、句法及语篇中的行文逻辑等方面也会交替出现。
3.短文改错试题的难度保持平稳，句子结构以简单句为主、复合句和并列句并重。句子的长度是控制难度的一个重要因素。句子越长难度越高。从近几年考试题来看，短文改错的句子平均长度平稳，但几乎每篇都有一个长达20多个词的句子。这就需要考生在这个句子中判断出二到三个地方有错或无错，增加了试题的难度。
-考查要点
短文改错的目的是测试考生发现、判断、纠正一些词法、句法以及语篇中的行文逻辑等方面错误的能力。它既能考查考生的词汇和语法方面的能力，也能考查考生的阅读理解能力。其考查要点的主要方面有：
1.词法的测试
词法的测试包括：1)定冠词和不定冠词的用法;2)名词的单复数和名词所有格;3)动词的时态、语态、语气、情态动词和非谓语动词等;4)人称代词的格、物主代词、指示代词、连接代词、不定代词等的用法;5)介词的搭配;6)并列连词、从属连词的用法;7)形容词、副词的区别以及比较级和最高级的用法;8)固定搭配和习惯用法。
2.句法的测试
句法的测试包括：1)主谓语在数上的一致;2)名词性从句;3)定语从句;4)强调句型;5)句子结构的连贯性、完整性、对等性及逻辑性。
3.语篇的测试
语篇的测试包括：1)上下文中的时态是否一致;2)上下文中的代词是否一致;3)上下文中的逻辑是否一致;4)上下文中的词、词组、从句的替代是否正确。
-解题技巧
1.通读全文，了解短文的中心意思，把握全篇的时态、人称及行文逻辑。尤其是行文逻辑方面的错误，有时孤立地读一个单句时是没有错误的(或是不易看出错误)。但是，如果联系上下文，就会发现该句的问题所在。在通读全文的同时把一些比较容易的或是明显的错误先改好，这样也为再进行分行、分句改错时，起到了降低难度的作用。
2.分句阅读，逐行找错。做完上述工作后，就要进入逐行改错的阶段。这时就要对文中的词法、句法和语篇(详见考查要点)角度着重分析和特别注意。
3.最后，把改好后的短文再阅读一遍，检验答案是否正确，感觉是否还有不妥之处，最终形成定稿。
-注意问题
1.通常考生认为短文改错中正确的一行一般在短文中间或是靠后的位置，但这是没有规律的，很有可能第一行就是正确的。
2.短文改错时改“错”，而不是把文中的表达法改成另外的表达形式。很多考生对这个概念比较模糊。把原文中并没有错的形式改成了自己认可的另外一种形式，虽然改后的表达法也是对的，但这样做偏离了这类题型的答题要求，因而也不能得分。
3.还有一点也是非常值得考生们注意的，就是：在短文改错时，不能改变短文中句子本身的意义。同样，如果需要改变句子的结构或连词等方面的错误时，也一定要围绕文章的中心意思来改错。

3 Advertising informs consumers about newer products available on the market. It gives us information with everything from shampoo to toothpaste to computers and cars. But there is one serious problems with this. The information are actually very often misinformation. It tells us the products’ benefits but hides its disadvantages. Advertising not only leads us to buying things that we don’t need and can’t afford, but it confuses our sense reality. “Zoom toothpaste prevents bad teeth and gives you the white teeth!” the advertisement tells us. Nowadays more and more students were found cheating in exams. Some copy from each other; some copy from their text books, reference books or prepared note; others use modern communication tool such as mobile phones. Cheating in exams will cause some worse effects. For one thing, it will result unfair competition and destroy the creativity of bright students. 错误和对策
一、标题。标题应由“发文机关+关于+事由+文种”构成，对内发文可省略发文机关。就上文标题而言，似乎也符合这一要求，但这只是最起码的格式要求，细究起来，这个标题仍存在着不少错误。
1.多用标点。标题中除书名号外一般不用标点，如：“关于印发《华东师范大学公章管理办法》的通知”。上文题目中的顿号、引号都是多余的，应该去掉。(新东方刘源注
- 1对单位，不针对个人，所以它一般不直接送给个人审阅。
三、正文。文种不同，内容要求也有变化。请示的正文一般包括请示缘由、请示事项，并应提出自己对解决问题的态度和意见。上文作为请示，虽然符合基本要求，但很多错误也是显而易见的。
1.引文不全。引用的公文要写明“发文时间+发文机关+标题+公文编号”，如：“根据华师2003‟17号《关于进一步做好非典型肺炎预防工作的通知》精神”。上文所提到的“校长办公会议决”缺少时间和议决题目。
2.数字不规范。正文中除一些约定俗成的叫法外(如华东师范大学“十五”规划)，数字应用阿拉伯数字，“十月二十一日”应为“10月21日”。
3.用词不当。公文讲究公事公办，不需要过度客气，行文应力求客观。“请校长办公室提供方便。热切盼望校长、书记的到来!”这些含有感情色彩的话尽量不用。
4.信息不准确。公文所涉及的时间、地点、人物应尽量做到准确具体，上文中举行奠基仪式的时间不够具体，地点也没说明，在公文写作中要注意避免。
5.结尾不当。公文有自己的结尾用词，请示一般用“以上请示，请予批复”结尾，而不用私人信件中常用的“此致”、“敬礼”。
6.缺少联系人。请示一般应有联系人和联系电话，上文中少了这项内容。

一是违反一文一批的原则。市政府在积存了某乡四件请示之后，才合在一起给了这样一个批复，这样做有多种弊端：(1)延误时间，耽误下级工作;(2)多种事项集于一篇公文之中，内容杂乱;(3)一份公文涉及多方面工作，给下级落实带来困难。因为这些工作在下级机关是由不同单位和不同负责人分管的，由哪个负责人承担批复的落实工作，不好确定。正确的做法是，下级报来一份请示，就及时回复一份批复。对方的四份请求，应有四份相应的批复。
二是标题不合要求。本批复的标题只有文种品称，没有发文机关和主要内容，不够认真严肃，也影响工作效率。
